One of the resident Dj’s was Sylvian Armand who did not disappoint the crowd, with a teaser intro he would go on to offer an eclectic mix of House and RnB, and with the addition of some popular Arabic songs he became a well renowned name. Here is our interview with DJ Sylvain Armand
How did it all begin, why did you choose to become a DJ?
Music is my true passion in life and when I was younger going out to clubs I didn't go to drink and party but to listen to the music. And I decided that I wanted to be the person "making the party with my music" and that's why I became a DJ.
Where are you deejaying at the moment and what are your future plans? I travel the world and I play in different clubs in different countries every week.
What are your favorite tracks? What tracks do you play that never fail to create a hype?
My favorite track is by Laurent Garnier "The man with the red face". I try to be creative, I try to create a hype with new tracks that people haven't heard before but instantly love. But if I have to chose 1 track, at the moment it would be Swedish House Mafia "One"
Who are your favorite deejays? Have you ever collaborated with anyone?
I have a lot of respect for french DJs, because they are the ones who launched the clubbing scene around the world. These DJs are Etienne De Crecy, Daft Punk, Phoenix, Dimitri from Paris, Bob Sinclar etc. Foremost I have worked closely with Bob Sinclar on a remix of "I Wanna" together with the international singer Shaggy. This was released Summer 2010 and is available on iTunes link, click here
In your opinion do you think fashion and music are in sync? What is your signature outfit for deejaying or hosting an event? Yes of course! DJs today have become icons and they have to follow the evolution of fashion to be on top of trends, as well as the evolution of music. Fashion influences music and music influences fashion.
What is the highlight of your career so far?
The highlight is to have the opportunity to live off my passion and I think the best is yet to come.
How did you find your experience in deejaying in Crystal London? Have you deejayed in crystal Lebanon too?
Would you consider hosting an event in Dubai or any other country in the Middle East? Absolutely!
I love Dubai and the Middle East, it has a unique and amazing atmosphere and crowd. I would very much like to explore these areas more in the near future.
Which other countries have you performed in?
I have performed in every continent in the world except Australia. I travel between 3-4 different countries every week.
What advise do you give to up and coming deejays?
Always be respectful and nice to the people you meet and work with and start producing your own music!
