Abdulla Al-Mulaifi - Khaleejesque's stylish writer

Khaleejesque is a must read for every Absolute-Man, we have been avid followers right from the start and we even profiled them shortly after we launched last summer (click Here to read about them).

Today we profile them in a different way as we share with our readers one of their most stylish writer, banker and online shopper, Abdulla Al-Mulaifi who gives us insight into the fashion must have pieces and talks us through this summer's key looks. Whether your going to a gathering, casual dinner or a party, this gentleman knows how to plan his wardrobe accordingly.

It's so much more simple to get a view out there in the world today. This was achieved through the Internet. As an online writer, is this medium valued?
Yes I do think the medium is valued because now anyone can access the internet and be exposed to various opinions and viewpoints with a click of a button. Before, people were afraid to express their views but now they can do it online anonymously and have more freedom with
their thoughts. The internet has helped change the misconceptions of Muslims and Arabs that other people had and showed them how smart we can be and showcase the talent and creativity that a lot of us possess.

Just to give our readers an idea of yourself, what is usually your first thought when you wake up?
I want to go back to sleep! Haha! Since I work in a bank in the Marketing & Research department, we start at 7:30am and I hate waking up so early. But other than that I just wake up hoping that I would have a great and productive day.

If you could design the wardrobe for any movie or TV show which would it be and why? I would pick Gossip Girl because most of the characters on the show are extremely rich so it would be cool because I get to choose outfits I want from all the designers and not be restricted to a certain limit or budget. Also, the characters are from different ages (Serena, her mom etc.) and the wardrobe is for both genders so it wont be boring.

Are branded clothes still fashionable or do you think the future holds more eccentric and independent items?
Of course, designer clothes will always be fashionable! Valentino
and Elie Saab, for example, will forever be around and held in high
regard. But I personally love something to be unique and eccentric so
I always try to have those items in my wardrobe. I hate wearing items
that are plain and currently I am digging stuff from talented British
designers found on websites like ASOS

Can you share with us 3 fashion pieces that you can't live without?
1. My Bottega Veneta mini bag that holds the items I need when I go
out like wallet, keys, cologne etc. and its much more practical that
stuffing them inside your pocket or losing them in the car.
2. My Cartier Ballon Bleu watch
3. A comfortable pair of loafers.

How would you like to portray the 'khaleej' through your articles for Khaleejesque and is there enough information about it online?
My articles for Khaleejesque are mainly entertainment-centered like a concert review or what TV shows to look our for and I write about Khaleeji TV shows and films being produced in the region. In that way I would like for people from the West or people who think that we live in tents to read my articles and see that we are actually informed and we watch the latest TV shows and watch the biggest blockbusters before they play in the US theaters sometimes! As for Khaleejesque, we just celebrated our second birthday and I am glad that our readership is the highest we’ve ever been and people are starting to know about it and actually check it on a daily basis for the latest articles and highly popular photo shoots.

This is THE perfect summer look. Its very casual and can be worn for the chalet. I know alot of guys go to the chalet and dont like to put alot of effort in what they wear so this is a nice choice, even the colors are bright and fun! Summer is perfect to burst in color so these blue pants are perfect, and with a white shirt they would look great for a semi-formal event where you will stand out from the rest..

Abdulla's comments on his online shopping experience..
"To be honest, the only site of the three i have ordered from is Mr Porter. It has a wide collection of the latest items and they deliever straight to your doorstep! Their packaging is a different story; your items are placed in a beautiful white box and when you open it you'll see a card that has your name customized on it. It was so easy ordering from them and it took about a week to be delivered. I also love ASOS and i check it on a regular basis. I love their collection and their prices are really good"
